Top London Events this June

Here at Guideline Coaches we have been providing coach travel in and around London for over thirty years and in that time we have transported people to some of the world’s, let alone the capital’s, biggest events.

This summer there is a whole range of events kicking off in London, and in this three-part series of articles we’re going to be looking at some of the top events that are taking our fancy, starting with June.

BP Big Screens, Various locations, 13th-18th June

Feeling a little bit cultural this summer? BP Big Screens gives you the chance to watch world class opera and ballet al fresco and completely free of charge beamed directly from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden,

On show this year is The Royal Ballet’s Mayerling and The Royal Opera’s La Rondine which will be presented by Alan Titchmarsh live from the Royal Opera House alongside a special guest presenter from Trafalgar Square.

Taste of London, Regent’s Park, 20th-23rd June

If you’re passionate about your food there is no way you will want to miss the Taste of London food and drinks festival taking place in Regent’s Park.

You’ll get to sample signature dishes from some of London’s best restaurants, while some of the most celebrated chef’s in the country will be in attendance as well as more than 100 specialist food producers.

The Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, Various locations, 21st-29th June

There are dozens of free events occurring all over the capital this summer and one of the ones we’re most excited about is the Greenwich+Docklands International Festival.

Featuring a cornucopia of theatre, dance and spectacle this event brings together the world’s best performers to the streets of London, with some of the highlights including: bungee assisted aerial dance troupe ‘As the World Tipped’; the Greenwich Fair; British theatre artists ‘Word on the Street’, and sound artists ‘Audible Forces’.

West End Live, Trafalgar Square, 22nd June-23rd July

Are you a fan of West End musicals but baulk at the often hefty price tags attached to the biggest shows? If so then you need to check out West End Live which is back for its ninth year showcasing free performances from loads of top musicals.

Last year featured music from Jersey Boys, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Matilda and Wicked while there are also a number of family-focused interactive activities and exhibits to explore, so is well worth taking a look at.

City of London Festival, Various venues, 23rd June-26th July

Comprising of music, dance, art and family events, the City of London festival is held in various venues across the capital every summer, and this year there are more than 100 free events to enjoy with your family and friends.
